Princess

She wanted to be a snow princess today.

Still climbing that hill!

Last week was my birthday. It was a good one! Well...the day BEFORE my b-day was the good one..thats when we actually celebrated. Mark was home for his ONE day off...the girls and I were home because of a snowday...it all worked out perfectly! I meant to share my b-day surprises earlier...but you can refer to #12 on the list above and see why I didn't.

Oh...back to the surprises!

Surprise #1: A Pink CD from the girls.
Surprise #2: A matching card game from Sydnee.

Surprise #3: A notebook from Mark.
Surprise #4..#5..and #6: Towels, jewelry and a kitchen set from Julie....$$$ from my mother-in-law....and an automatic handsoap dispenser from my dad and germaphobic mom!
When I say these all were surprises...that couldn't be further from the truth! Mark and I rarely exchange gifts..but I must of done something right this year because I feel like I hit the jackpot!
I saved the biggest surprise for last....
Surprise #7: A jello cake homemade from Mark! Seriously, he went to the cafe to have his friend Ricky help him make it! It brings tears to my eyes thinking of 2 grown men...stumbling around the kitchen at 6:00 in the morning...all for me! It was indeed yummy!

Bend-a-WHAT???

BENDAROOS! That slogan drives me nuts...almost as much as that darn Pillow Pet jingle that haunts my every waking moment! Despite my feelings towards these little waxy sticks...the twins love them. They create all sort of creatures, words and shapes that now grace about every wall in my home!

Well...if you can't beat them...join them, right?!?!

"I am ze locksmith of love, no? "

Old Man Winter

After lots of weather watching and hoping ...the kids got their wish! It started out with a few snow flurries....

....and soon blanketed our yard in pure whiteness!

There is very little about winter that I like...except the beauty...and the snowdays from school....and the fuzzy socks and hot cocoa. I guess its not so bad after all!

Promises...Promises!

I think I can...I think I can.....I think I can! Whelp...that time of the year....don't know whether to dread it or embrace it! Let me give you a hint! I starts with a "R"....and ends with a "ESOLUTION"!

As a family, we have many things that we can improve on. I talked to the girls about some things I would like for them to try to better...and they agreed on the following!

1. Energy! I imagine I would cringe if I seen the meter turning with all the lights that are left on throughout the house! The girls are going to be more aware of lights being on in rooms that aren't being used! I think they will get better with this after they figure out that we do not have monsters lurking in every dark corner...just under the beds!

2. DISHES! I have several things going on throughout my day...waitress is not suppose to be one of them! I have picked up more dirty dishes in the past year! From now on...dishes need to be scraped, rinsed and loaded in the dishwasher! Well....that is if I follow through with my Resolution #2!

3. Laundry! I don't blame my girls for avoiding this topic...I also hurdle myself into a corner and start sucking my thumb when I am faced with this nightmare! We all must brave our fears....so this means no more dirty clothes left on the floor!

4. Bible Reading! The last on the list, but mostly defiantly the most important. If this is the only resolution that my girls complete, I will consider this coming year a success! They each have a junior daily reading chart that is easy to follow...I pray that they do!

Now...for me! Nothing earthshattering...just a few things that are on the constant back burner of my mind!

1. Get Healthy/Loss Weight! When doesn't this resolution show its ugly face? I am going to be optimistic and say that this will be the last year it will grace my top 5!

2. Eat early! I'm am a notorious late, late supper fixer! My husband hates it...the kids whither on the floor claiming to be starved...and I go to bed with a full stomach that later in the night turns into heartburn! Nothing good about it!

3. Clean Kitchen! Since we will be eating much earlier in the evening, there is no reason to clean up before bedtime. I love a clean house...especially a clean kitchen. Whats the point to clean the kitchen after work and then dirty it again just a few hours later! I need to see my reflection in my once shiny granite...you know, to keep up with the progress from Res. #1!!!!

4. Bible Time! I need it....no doubt about that! I am such a better person with a Godly mind. I don't know why I don't make more time for this...it saves me.

5. DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!

Twenty-11

It just doesn't have the same ring to it as "Twenty-Ten", but I'm thinking 2011 is going to grow on me! I am expecting great things to happen this year...its all how you look at life, right?!?!

I was a little bummed when I found out that Mark was going to have to work overtime, so the Ladies and I decided to party it up at home!
We wanted to dress up for the occasion...so PJ's and fuzzy socks it was!

What party is complete without meat and cheese nachos?

Of course, can't leave out our traditional Purple Cows!

A little bit of entertainment from our new guy friend, Mario!

As you can see, we (well...most of us!) made it to welcome in the New Year! Let the good time begin!

December 2010

The last month of the year brought with it lots of fun, activities and color!

~*~ Cody and Madi spent some time trying to out-do each other with a little friendly BB gun shoot off!
"Awww...the manly-man sport! A gun and a target!"

"Move on over....anything you can do I can better!"

"Oh yeah...I AM WOMAN....HEAR ME ROAR!"

"But I am man...and I can do tricks!"

"Ha!...Take that sucka!"

~*~I badly wanted to be the ultimate Grinch this year! I dreaded dragging all the Christmas decorations out of their tidy little spots, but I bit the bullet and took one for the team!

The girls all pitched in and it actually got festive in the house pretty quick!
~*~ Gingerbread...gumdrops...candy bits...frosting...and more frosting! It wasn't a total failure this year...we only lost one house to construction disaster!

~*~ Santa Clause is coming to town! Not many get to see the Misses, also! These two rolled into town in style...1950's firetruck!

It was such a bitter cold morning, we didn't stick around long! Got our pics...goodie bags...and was sure that Santa had our wishlist right! (He must of got it wrong, because he didn't bring anything from that list!!!)
~*~ School Christmas program. A time to dress up. A time to spread some holiday cheer by singing....or playing the trumpet.....

....or a drum solo in the band....
....or a time to catch a glimpse of Raggedy Ann and Andy! Huh??!?!?
The twins played this raggedy duo in the Christmas play! They remembered their lines perfectly....
"Now, now Jack-in-the Box, what are you waiting for? Its time at last...open up your door!"

Little Eli was the perfect gentleman during the whole preformance....I guess he had to considering someone was nearby with the Naughty list!

~*~ Took a little winter trip to KC to stay with my sister! More pics on Madi's facebook!
~*~ Due to juggling everyones schedules....Christmas day came a day early this year for our family! The twins were on their way home from KC, so I had a little helper in the kitchen! She was very helpful setting out our best china! (I ♥ you paper products!)

Family soon began to arrive and the air was full of bits and pieces of colorful strips of paper!

Mark and I decided to keep the gifts a bit more simple this year! Sydnee got a bunch a playdoh stuff....

Callie a mp3/camera/video player....and some polka dot rubber boots!

Abbie the same as the before mentioned goodies!

Madison a keyboard....with earphones!
They also got some Wii accesories and games....stocking goodies...and way to many gifts from Papa and G-ma Jo! It was a great day that was ended with a little "Just Dance" battle. I'm afraid I would have to be in hiding if I posted those pics! Bwahahaha......but one of these days................!

~*~ At least Madison is getting lots of good out of her gift! She just hasn't figured out the headphone thing....I'm getting a bit tired of pounding on the wall reminding her!

~*~ I feel pretty confidence that my 9 years olds are now ready for a drivers licence....thanks Mario Cart!

~*~ I knew that Sydnee would love her play-doh! She is at the perfect age to spend hours creating all sorts of things! I don't know how many "meals" I have ordered!

What I didn't expect is how much the other girls would also become so creative! I guess your never to old for a little play-doh fun!

Hungry yet?
