Welcome to Four Chickadees and Me blog! It is here that I share my often pointless thoughts...my over stressed feelings and stories that are just to crazy to keep to myself! And yes...most include my girls I like to think of as my little chickadees...they indeed follow me everywhere!

Feel free to check out some of my other blogs that I have listed above...just click and enjoy!

Week In Pictures- Sept. 19-26

Got to spend time with family and friends at my cousin Richard and Nicoles house warming potluck lunch! They are buying our old house, so we felt right at home!
The weather is changing...nice and cool! Can we get some dog kisses for that?!
Madison's first year in school sports is taking off to a good start...volleyball!

I got to take some pics of my handsome nephew Cody....a facebook profile pic was on his "need to do now" list!!!LOL

Masons Day 2009

We got to spend a fun filled day at Masons Day! We all had such a great time....even if we did our own things! Of course, it is always a great day when both of my sisters are home!
Callie enjoyed spending time with Aunt Polly and Adam and kept the face painting booth busy!

Abbie was right in line with all the boys....ready to have her turn at some car crashing fun!

Syd pretty much spent most of her time (and my money!) bouncing off the walls...literally!

My mom kept busy frying up some funnel cakes for all to enjoy...and they were yummmy!

I kept busy playing on a Mud Volleyball team...had a blast, but was walking a bit crooked for a couple days after! Oh...did I mention that we won 1st place?!?!? Woohoo!!!

As for Madison...her fun day was ended with a bit of a tummy rumble! Why?...well, lets just say that I doubt she will enter a pie eating contest again!....or maybe so! She ROCKED that apple pie!!!LOL (and being the warped mother that I am...I'm going to make her an apple pie for every birthday she has for the rest of her life!!!!)

I can't wait until next year, when we can dust the old volleyball off...enjoy great food and activities....share a fun day with family and friends for a wonderful cause!

House Pics!

***Please take not that I had to use my wide angle lens to get the whole rooms in the pics (there are 11 foot ceiling!)...which means that I get wide shots, but really bad color...and some distortion, ok..lots of that! Please keep this in mind...just sayin'!!!!***

I thought since we have been living in the house for....uhmm...oh, a few months now...I thought it was time to share some update pics!

It has only been a couple of weeks since I have not fumbled and stumbled over boxes...it has been great to actually have a home that looks like...well, a HOME and not a storage unit! Of course, there are still lots of unfinished touches here and there (bedside tables, barstools, pictures on the wall, ect.)...but with good time!

So here are a few random pics of the place...if you want to see more..you just have to come on over and visit!!!

The DINING ROOM was lots of fun for me to pull together. I had seen a table in a furniture store that I feel in love with and mentally designed this room around...then reality hit with a big fat label...."NO MONEY!!"...so I was sadly left with my old table and hutch to work with! So after LOTS of sanding, restaining, painting and more sanding...this is what I ended up with. It wasn't to far off from my vision...and it was FREE!, which healed my wounds much faster!
You can't see much detail, but it is very shabby country with sanded edged and distressed detail...kind of like me!

On the other side of the entry way is the STUDY. It is one of the most used rooms in the house. Who would have thought that such a simple minded gal as myself would us a study?!? Of course, having the computer in there probably has something to do with that!

Now lets take a peek at the LIVING ROOM that is pretty much located in the center of the house. The windows look out unto the upper level of the deck....we hope to "decorate" the deck one of these days! And while you are averting your eyes from the deck...please do the same for the T.V. area...still waiting for Mark to get all his goodies plugged in! We still plan to one day add some rustic beams on the ceiling....I'm not giving up hope...I will plead my case....I will fight to my death....I will....ok, so you probably get that I LOVE rustic ceiling beams!

Lets move on over to the MASTER BEDROOM, which happens to be the least finished room, but there is a bed and that is the most important part! Mark bought me a bed (leather and wood...yummy!)... I think he got tired of bunking in the girls rooms! I will share more pics at a later time when we fill it up a bit more!

Of course, the MASTER BATH is never far behind the master bedroom. The paint is the same as the bedroom, it just looks really washed-out in the pic...use your imagination! The walk-in shower is next to the tub and leads to our closet. It is big...it is handy... and it is boring, hence no pic of the closet!

On the way back down the hall, we pass a little guest bath and coat closet. They are cute...they are so helpful...they are to small for me to fit into with a camera! Just know that they are there...I would feel bad if I left them out!
Lets head back to the center of the house and check out the KITCHEN. I can not express the happiness I feel in this room...seriously...is there very many things better than cleaning up a clean kitchen?!?! For those of you that have a new or remodeled kitchen...you know what I'm saying, right? It is so easy to keep things clean and fresh and in its place. But don't get me wrong...it is also a scary thing! I mean, when does it got from a "new" kitchen to "I dread cleaning this room" kitchen??! Who knows!....I'm just going to enjoy the moments I have left in my "clean" kitchen!!! Hmmmm....thinking about this more, I realize that Mark actually spends more time tidying up this area than me since I am now working and he has more days off than me!....maybe thats why I am lovin' it so much!!!!
We still need to add some barstools (I waited to long to order the ones I love...now they are sold out!!! :-( and one day we would like to rock the bar area....just another dream to add to the list!

Now lets head to the exciting part of the house...the GIRLS BEDROOMS!!! Be prepared to be blown away....with lots of color, that is!!! Along the way down the loonnngggg hallway, you will see we pass the laundry room...oh wait, you didn't see that part! Sorry...this room is to busy doing its job all the time I doubt if it will ever make its debut on the blog! Sad...I know, but this ol' room has made us proud. It does its job and smells good, too!!!

Here is some pics of SYDNEES ROOM...the birdhouse bedroom....complete with a whimsical polk-a-dot tree! (which she has not attempted to climb yet...knock on wood!) Did I mention that this is Sydnee's first bedroom....ever. She is so proud and actually spends lots of time playing in here...now if we could only get her to sleep in here also!

Between Sydnee and the Twins room is a shared bathroom. It is cheerful and bright and saves us from listening to lots of "my turn in the bathroom" fights! One of my favorite features in this room is the built-in linen closet...I love not having to share my personal space with 2 hundred hair bows!!!! Ahhhh!!!

Now to the TWINS BEDROOM! I can't help but to smile when I go in here....it is so fun and just so "them"! This is the first time Callie and Abbie have had their own beds, so still sharing a room is no big deal at this point! And for those of you wondering (I know there is at least one!)....there are 1,400 dots on that wall! That shelf/grid wall is also one of my biggest carpentry projects (besides Syd's wall!) that I have done on my own....can I get a "WAY TO GO, SISTA!!!" on that?!?!!?

Lets check out the last room left to explore...the little drama Queen Bees place...also known as MADISON'S BEDROOM! There is a lot of pre-teen activity going on here...nothing really has its place, but thats how its suppose to be, right??? Madi and I had fun working on this room together and believe me, she done her fair share of work! If she is the only one in the house that doesn't have to share a bathroom, she is going to earn that privilege!!!!LOL

The vanity, sink, mirror and lights are not in the pic...just imagine the twins sink cut in half...and there you have it!

WoW....one hour and major backache later...I have completed blogging the tour of pics! Hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse into our home. We really are happy here and love everyday we get to spend as a family in a home that was built out of love! Next on our list...the basement! I will share some pics of our progress once we get started, which should be soon! If you ever want a tour in person or need a place to stay... our doors are always up...well, not literally....we live in the woods...I would never leave my door open at night, but you get my drift!LOL
